Well, we are 60 days out from starting our journey south; most likely the furthest south we will ever go. Mike and I have traveled a fair bit before: Phoenix, Florida, up north from Whitehorse to Tuktoyaktuk, and as part of a group to Peru. Part of the initial discussion for this trip happened while we were further north than anyone we know had been, "Let's go further south than anyone we know!" and here we are 3.5 years later.
We are flying to Buenos Aires then joining the G Adventures' End of the Earth tour traveling through Patagonia down to the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia. From there we board the G Adventures' ship MS Expedition to take their Quest for the Antarctic Circle tour, sailing down the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula striving to cross the Antarctic Circle, while making shore landings all along the way. The boat takes us back to Ushuaia where we fly to Buenos Aires, spending a few more days there prior to heading home. It should be 33 great days of excitement and adventure.
